Senior HR Business Partner

Manage a team of HR Business Partners to provide proactive HR partnership to managers and employees of assigned departments / businesses and to Regional Management. Introduce and drive measures to improve people management effectiveness and support senior management in achieving business objectives.
 
Responsibilities:
 
  • Partner with Management, department heads and Head Office to provide pro-active Human Resources management that drives employee performance and harnesses employee motivation toward strategic business goals
  • Supervise, develop and guide staff; evaluate staff performance and address employee issues; participate in staff hiring, disciplinary activities and employment related decisions
  • Support Senior Management regionally and globally to ensure that the strategy, business plans and budgets for HR-related issues are successfully implemented and achieved
  • Develop, coordinate and implement HR strategy, policies and procedures
  • Manage all aspects of the annual compensation review process, including: budgeting, developing compensation approaches, market data collection and analysis, advising, discussing and decision-making with senior management, conducting firm-wide equal-pay audits, liaising with Head Office regarding approval requirements
  • Primary generalist for various Front and Back Office areas, providing back up to other areas when necessary
  • Handle all employment-related issues and provide counselling for employees and supervisors on HR related matters
  • Manage the hiring and selection process and international transfers – conduct interviews, negotiate terms and conditions of employment offers
  • Manage the expatriate process and oversee all immigration issues
  • Evaluate organizational training needs and develop and conduct training sessions / utilize external training resources
  • Develop, introduce, refine and monitor the performance management process
  • Work closely with Senior Management on employee relations issues pertaining to performance management, disciplinary action, employee grievances, reorganizations and reductions in force for respective areas of responsibility; liaise with outside counsel as needed
  • Manage staff reductions in a respectful and professional manner, while focusing on minimizing risk exposure, including administration of the Firm’s severance pay policy; negotiate severance packages
  • Work closely with Senior Management providing benchmark analysis for compensation review, retention programs and recruitment activities
  • Manage all aspects of  Graduate Programs
  • Assign responsibilities to direct reports and ensure successful discharge of those duties; provide guidance; develop skills and career progression of direct reports
  • Manage special projects together with Head of HR and the HR team    
 
Requirements:
 
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business-related discipline or equivalent work experience
  • 7-10 years of well-rounded experience in Human Resources with a financial services firm
  • Advanced Certification in Human Resources - e.g. Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) a plus
  • Demonstrates initiative in anticipating and resolving people-related programs, policies and issues
  • Extensive expertise in compensation, employee relations, expatriate management, development, employment law, business orientation
  • Team player with strong skills in communications, interpersonal relations and employment law
  • Strong management skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet multiple deadlines with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to interact with the most senior-level management and staff at all levels
